Jupiter can be seen quite brightly with a silver-white luster. It is brightest in 2008 from June 24 to July 24. During this interval, Jupiter will shine like a dazzling silvery “star” in the constellation of Sagittarius just to the east of the pattern of stars popularly known as the Teapot. It is at opposition to the Sun on July 9.Dates to remember:
Jupiter is brightest in the morning sky from June 24 through July 8 and brightest in the night sky from July 9 to July 24.
