New this year (thanks to popular demand) in the 2009 Farmers’ Almanac is a Best Day to potty train. (Did you know there was such a thing?)

While many might say the best time to potty train is when the child is ready, according to moon lore, there is a more favorable time throughout a month to start this sometimes challenging time in a toddler’s life. (For September, the best dates to potty train are September 8th through the 15th.)

Our Best Days calendar is an Almanac tradition that dates back centuries. The general belief is that you should conduct a variety of tasks when the moon is most favorable. The dates listed are based on many formulas that often take the moon’s place in the zodiac as well as the phase of the moon into consideration. The results are not guaranteed, but people who follow this moon-based list swear they get the best results.
