Farm Aid 2006- Wrap Up

Willie is joined on stage by the Native Americans who helped him open the show. All the artists who played today pack the stage and help Willie sing “Will the Circle be Unbroken” and “I’ll Fly Away.”

Willie thanks the artists, audience and farmers.

Willie and Neil take a final bow and say “See you somewhere next year.” We at Farmers’ Almanac TV hope “next year” will be in our home state of Georgia.

This has been an amazing event and we are so happy to have been here. Some of tonight’s footage will appear in a 30-minute episode about Farm Aid on Farmers’ Almanac TV, which airs on public television. Check your local listings or this map for station times. (Check our website, www.farmersalmanactv.com, as well. Some Farm Aid footage will appear there soon).

Thank you for joining me on this blog.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
