2007 Hurricane Season

Welcome to Hurricane Season. It runs form June 1st – November 30th each year. With technology available we can track storms off the African Coast and follow them to landfall or watch them self-destruct. We believe there will be a number of storms that will at least threaten the US. Here are a few:

Northeast
August 12 – 15
September 8 – 11

Southeast
August – 16 – 19
September – 4 – 7

There are others listed in the Farmers’ Almanac including calls for tornadoes, cyclones, etc. August looks like the most “interesting” month for summer weather. Stay tuned and check our website often.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
