Yes it’s that time of year again. Weeding season. It always amazes me how fast those weeds grow. Why can’t my hair or nails grow that fast? Or my bank account?!
It’s been a few weeks since I really weeded the gardens here at home and it’s starting to show. So I guess I know how I’ll be spending the weekend.
For fun I asked our Facebook readers what some of their favorite weeding excuses are. There are some real funny ones as well as people who really enjoy weeding.
Here are my favorites but be sure to check out all of them at our Facebook page.
Weeds? They’re not weeds they’re native plans.
I like the naturalized look.
If I weeded, I wouldn’t have grass.
WEEDS? Isn’t that what I planted?
For every one you pull, 3 more will grow in it’s place!
Got any good ones? Share them here.

Sandi Duncan is the Managing Editor of the Farmers' Almanac.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
