Having the decorations up and the music playing so early, after awhile we become numb to it and it becomes just an everyday thing. The retailers are all about making the money and the earlier the better. That is why I won't participate in the "Black Friday" sales that now begin at midnight. There is no reason for it except greed. Why can't these sales run during normal business hours? Some stores are so greedy they are even open on Thanksgiving Day. Before long, stores won't even close for Christmas, pity.

I agree that stores put out Christmas stuff too soon. I've seen Christmas stuff in the stores in October and it's ridiculous. I don't know why the big rush to push the holidays. The local radio station started playing all Christmas music the Sunday before Thanksgiving. One neighbor had his home decorated for Christmas two weeks before Thanksgiving. I put my Christmas decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. It's Thanksgiving that officially ushers in the Christmas season.

I start shopping in July sometimes earlier for Christmas, so if there are things out there I might be one of the persons to shop... before this year I might have said things are pushed to early but I already want my tree up, I want my family around, the holidays are when families get closer and come together, Jesus and church are in the picture more now so why not promote the holidays ahead. I love to give gifts.. If I could afford to give I would be Santa all year. I am not young anymore and want to be with my family more, the time goes fast, very fast, so if the Holiday come early it means my family will call and say what are we doing for the Holidays...their coming soon....Maybe people all over will remember the real reason and there will be more peace, love and hope in the world for all... and not worrying about things in stores, just think of some things as going on sale or finding things you normally can't find during the year. Everyone is too busy..stop and remember what really matters.

I totally agree. It's all about money these days, instead of Christ's birth. This year, we plan to put the tree up on Thanksgiving day, while we have the family together. Normally we wait until the week before Christmas.
