Myself, I keep December sane by varying how I spend the holidays from year to year: family is wonderful but it’s nice to take a year off the “family dinner” wheel and go to a restaurant, a movie, a Bed & Breakfast, or just stay at home in front of the fire with a glass of wine, a book and my cat.
