Celebrate Spring Flavors

Curried Chicken Salad
1-1/2 cups cooked rice
1/4 cup grated onion
1 tsp. curry powder
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 tbsp. vinegar

Add:
2 cup cooked, diced chicken
1 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2tsp. salt
Pepper to taste

Tasty Strawberry Dip
1 pint fresh strawberries
1 cup sour cream
1 cup brown sugar
Wash and hull berries. Place in a bow. Place remaining ingredients in their own bowls. Dip strawberries in sour cream then brown sugar, or place ht three bowls on the table for your guests to do their own dipping.

Strawberry Salsa
Good on Chicken.

 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
4 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
 2 cloves garlic, minced
 1 lime, juiced
 1 tbsp. olive oil

In a large bowl, combine strawberries, tomatoes, chile peppers, garlic, lime juice and oil. Toss all together to mix and coat. Cover dish and refrigerate for 2 hours to chill.

Decorate for Spring
Make a fun, cheery tablecloth out of a pretty floral sheet. Cut down to size. Try an iron-on binding for the edge.

For a simple centerpiece, fill a glass water pitcher with lemons and limes. Yellows and greens will cheer up any table.

Pansies are one of the earliest annuals. Pick some up and decorate your home and outdoors with them.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
