Popcorn Party Mix

Popcorn Party Mix

Ingredients

2 qt. freshly popped popcorn

2 cups salted peanuts

3 cups bit-size toasted wheat square cereal

1 cups butter or magarine (2 sticks)

2 cups round oat cereal

3 cups thin pretzel sticks

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon Tabasco

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 F. Mix popcorn, cereals, pretzels, and nuts in 2 large shallow pans. Melt butter; stir in Worcestershire, garlic salt and Tabasco. Pour half of mixture over 1 pan of popcorn mix, remaining half over the other pan; toss well to coat. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Drain on paper towels. Store in airtight containers.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
