Roasted Potatoes

Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients

6 large white potatoes, peeled and quartered

Lawry's seasoned salt, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste

Extra virgin olive oil, enough to coat the potatoes

Directions

1. Place all the potatoes in a bowl. Season with Lawry’s seasoned salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add olive oil and toss until the potatoes are evenly coated with oil and seasoning.

2. Place potatoes in baking pan and bake in a preheated 400-degree oven for 1 ½ hours. They should be turned frequently so that they are deeply browned on all sides.

Notes

  • Variation on this is to use new red potatoes, unpeeled and scrubbed with minced, fresh garlic and rosemary.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
