1 cup pecan or walnut pieces, chopped
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
1 1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 dark brown sugar
1 stick butter, room temperature
2 pints blueberries
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the nuts, 1 cup flour, oats, brown sugar and butter in a food processor and pulse till clumpy. Put the berries in a square baking sheet and drizzle with lemon juice and then sprinkle with sugar and flour. Top with the nut and oat mixture, then bake for 45 minutes, until bubbly. Let cool to room temperature, then serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
