Easy and inexpensive to make. Ingredients are always on hand in the cupboard, so it can be whipped up quickly for company or when you want to bring a dessert to an impromptu get-together or just to make an ordinary weekday dinner a little special. Similar taste to pound cake…serve with fresh fruit, ice cream, etc. I do agree with Angela, though. It took nearly an hour to bake.

The first time I made it I baked it in a 9 inch round cakepan. The second time I made it I used a loaf pan and substituted almond extract for vanilla. Oh so good and REALLY good the second day!
