Ingredients:
2 8-oz. packages of cream cheese, softened
1 8-oz. package of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon finely chopped onions
1 tablespoon chopped red bell peppers
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Cayenne pepper
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Directions:
In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese and cheddar with a mixer until blended. Add onions, peppers, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and a dash of cayenne pepper and mix well. Refrigerate mixture for several hours. Shape it into a ball and roll it in chopped pecans. Serve with assorted crackers.

Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
