Ingredients:
4 tablespoons butter
3 cups mini marshmallows
1/2 cup brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups chopped unsalted peanuts
Directions:
Melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows, brown sugar, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly until syrupy. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir in peanuts. Stir until well coated. Spread in greased 8-X- 8 pan. Let cool but great while still a little warm.

Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
