Might smash MORE RECORDS this week

Well, this “winter” or lack thereof has already smashed almost every record in the book it seems… so why not shoot for a few more?

Here are the record high temperatures for the week:

March 16:   61  (1927)

March 17:   58  (2003)

March 18:   68   (1990)

March 19:   56   (1938)

March 20:   55   (1948)

Temperatures could easily near 60 any day this week, and the forecast highs of 57 and 58 on the 19th and 20th are set to break the record if they verify.

Average highs for the week are 39-40, and average lows are 18-19.    Forecast lows are in the 30s for this week.

Most models show the trend continuing through early April…  wjp, I really have no idea what you're seeing. Surprised

Hhmm, all of a sudden I see a line from a local meterologist who is somewhat in line with wjp's thinking:

This mild air mass will be with us through Sunday.  I'm tracking a strong cold front that will likely put an end to this warmer than normal party in the northeast.  The irony here is the first full week of spring will likely be colder than normal.  Enjoy the sun!

Doesn't mention the worst snow/blizzards of the season, but at least there will be a chance.

Is that just for your area or the whole northeast ??  Just wondering, we are going to Disney World from April 3 – and we own a landscping Business that does snow removal, deicing threw the winter and I worry about something hitting while we are gone, my guys are great and can handle it, BUT the “what if's” set in when we are not here to handle things.  I'm a worrywart.

  3. TheMaineMan says:

I think it applies to the interior northeast through upstate New York and Pennsylvania.

It's hard to say what will happen at this point, but the pattern has got to break eventually. If it continues, I could be seeing triple digit temperatures for the first time in my lifetime this summer, lol.

I wouldn't worry too much about snow… because if a storm does come through it would probably block the cold blast to some extent and lead to minor accumulations at worst… except in the mountains.

How strange, I may have gone above 60 once this year. Its been 130 days since the last 70 (Or…VERY uncommon) and my highs and lows have been stuck in the 40's since the silly cut-off low moves south of us. The weather is EXACTLY like it was in October!!!

  5. MSSouthernGirl says:

We started the week with cool temps but today, Friday and Saturday we are suppose to be in the low 70's. Sunday is suppose to be rather chilly with a chance of rain and snow showers . Transitional…
