Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a great tip I found for removing pine sap from the surface of your vehicle… rubbing alcohol. Don't go buying that $5 “sap and bug remover” that smells awful and doesn't even work, just plain old cheap rubbing alcohol works best. Just use an old rag and let the alcohol soak into the sap for a minute, then keep wiping away. At first, it looks like nothing is coming up, but if you keep wiping, it pretty much all comes up at once.
I discovered this by accident as I was using Rain-X on my windshield, and noticed that it took sap off the glass just like that. I figured it was the alcohol in the product that did so, so I tried alcohol on the car and it worked great!
Just make sure you re-wax the areas afterwards, as the alcohol and sap take a lot of the wax off.
