Here are my general thoughts on the entire year and as each season comes along, I will issue seasonal forecasts.
-My spring prediction seems to be holding up decently. I shouldve had the late cold in the west instead of the SE though.
-I think Summer will be hot in the plains, southeast, mid-atl, OV, GL's, SNE, and Gulf states.
-Summer will feature neutral ENSO conditions.
-I think Summer will be very stormy and wet in many areas but particularly stormy in the hotter areas.
-I believe that Summer ends early.
-Fall will remain stormy still with near average temps to slightly above average temps for many.
-Weak La Nina forming.
-La Nina lasts through winter and remains weak.
…

Guess no one's interested?
im interested fatherfrost just have had lots of contracts to fullfill now that spring is here my business speeds up BIG time. But i forget when there is a weak la nina does that mean a warm with less snow winter or cold and with tons of snow? and upper midwest/southern lake michigan u see it hot and wet around here? thursday and friday were suppose to hit middle 80's than temp drop again to the 60's i heard on the news weather man said only 5 times in recorded history that it got this warm early every summer that has happened it was a hot summer and wet. is this the case again? cause ill take aything from last year it started off warmish hot than just suddenly did a 86 and got cold heh for the summer. and sorry i was late on replyin to ya jus been busy im allways interested in yer forums bro and maps. i think u should post a spring/summer maps for the u.s. fatherfrist yes?
On the subject of La Nina, if it remains weak then we can still develop strong enough blocking to see cold and snow east of the Mississippi.
It would also help if the La Nina was west-based just like this El Nino has been. Not sure if La Nina's do that though…
My general thoughts are that La Nina will develop, it will be weak, and winter will be a bit more spread out this year instead of focused on one area.
well im hopen for a hot summer with a cold an sbowy winter again
but thats just me. i got a thing for snow an cold! and good heat in the summer..
Nice Work. However, I am in heavy disagreement with you in the idea that “summer ends early”. I believe “summer” conditions last through much of september, especially In the South and east.
As for the La Nina, I'm Thinking it will be around -1.5C deviation, a Weak/Moderate La Nina
Let me be more specific then…
Summer ends early with a sort of Indian Summer later on leading to what seems like a longer than normal Summer.
I think that winter in general will see cold and snowy conditions east of the Mississippi, depending on the trends and any blocking that develops throughout the year. It definitely won't be as intense as last winter especially for places like DC, Baltimore, and Philly. I also think most action will occur during the early part of winter…that is all I can say considering we're barely half way through the year. I will keep y'all updated on winter throughout the year though.
I guess we'll have do differ this time.
I'm more in Line with 90's thru Mid September in the Mid Atlantic/Eastern US, a “hot” september, with Next winter Featuring excitement for all regions of the country, with the worst cold IN Febuary.
We're not differing really. I do agree that September will be warmer than normal but I think cooler conditions will start to sneak in here and there. I also think that winter “excitement” as you put it will be spread out across the majority of the country. I only mentioned the areas east of the Mississippi because many people on this side of the creek think that when a La Nina happens winter is dull and boring. I was simply stating that that isnt always the case.
What about in the Midwest? I know I shouldn't hope for a lapse to the tundra, but I don't want to have the opposite extreme after such a marvelous winter…it would kill me!
I hope your both wrong about a hot September!I don't mind warm, but 90's are too hot! I almost roasted when it got up to 90 two days in a row this month!
I like 70s at the start of September fading to 60s by the end of the month. Lows usually go from upper 40s at the start to the upper 30s by the end. I agree that 90, even 80 is too warm! It can happen though. Last fall we had our first freeze right at the end of the month.
