That article is def garbage. We'll see what the “alarmists” have to say when the global temps fall drastically by early next year. There is no global warming, at least not to the extent that these yahoos want you to believe.

One of out local weather men, Jim Gandy of WLTX-19, LITTERALLY just did a small segment, showing these charts and tables and crap with the glaciers on the decline and a BUNCH of other stuff. I can't remember the exact number of scientists that took part in the study..but it was like..over 700..and these people that did the ORIGINAL study and research, then turned their findings over to other “experts”, who then agreed with the people who did the original studies. Its confuseing..but either way..it made me mad..really mad..I WISH he did a story on it on their news website. I just looked and one haen't been posted (yet).
This really makes me angry. First of all, that story from April in the OP failed to mention the early fall and winter that the country witnessed last year. It is obviously slanted and highly politicised.
As for the trash published yesterday by the NOAA, well that makes me plain sick. I mean anybody that has been to the climate site for the last ten years has seen the obvious bias they have. I don't recall a single long range outlook (at least three months in advance) that did not have a large portion of warmer than normal conditions. I brought this up a couple of years ago on another board and I was dismissed as seeing things and that they were only going by the trend at the time. Well, I'm sorry, but that is horse doo doo.
The bottom line is that we should be taking better care of our planet, but not because we are going to destroy it with global warming. Even if man-made GW was true, then the Earth is pretty good at retaining an equillibrium over its history and it will be balanced out.
I don't mean to make this political, but to me it is highly questionable that this comes out just a couple of months before the liberals are expected to sustain heavy losses in the elections. Don't get me wrong, I am about as moderate as it comes (just not on this issue), but this sounds like something that Dems could point to in elections.
Likewise. But, we have to deal with nay-sayers, and ignore them. Plain and simple. I wonder how bad the cooling will get to? As in..lhow far do yall think the temps will drop below the average earth temp?
One year a result does not make, just because we had a cooler winter, that doesn't mean Global warming is false. However, just because we have had a warmer period, that does not mean climate change is mad made, or the planet will continue warming. Both sides have so many misconceptions. Climate change supporters feel exactly the same for people who believe in global cooling about the people who believe in global warming/climate change. Be careful what you say! IMHO, it is absolutely ridiculous to think that humanity can draw a conclusion or have a good idea about what is going on with the climate, other than in polar regions temperatures are warming. Any readings from metropolitan areas should be nullified b/c an urban environment is much different than a wild environment, and changes much faster than in a wild area. Like arkansasdolfan said, we should just be trying to take better care of our planet, because no matter what else happens, it is impossible to live like we are now forever.
