I, and maybe a few other people, have read it. Hopefully, this winter will be the bomb-diggidy for us here in the US, even all the way down in the South East.

  2. TheMaineMan says:

Kind of false information on that site… last winter was actually quite warm for the north hemisphere as a whole… yeah cold in most of the US and in Europe, but very warm in Canada, Alaska, Greenland, northern Europe, most of Asia, and pretty warm in the southern hemisphere too (I understsand it was summer down there, but still, warmer than average as a whole.)

I agree that the PDO will make the world as a whole cooler though.

I think he is an expert at this stuff MaineMan..but go ahead and challenge him on that article.

Surprised I don't know  about such things but boy to  an unexperienced person that article doesn't sound so good. Of course I may be misunderstanding the article also. Is it as bad as it sounds? Is it really going to be as cold as they are implying it could be? Undecided

  5. The Rickster says:

Only time will tell in my opinion. I may need to read the artical again to try and make more sence of it.

  6. glennkoks says:

I agree with the MaineMan.   The East Coast and parts of Europe had a brutal winter but as he said much of the rest of the world was warmer than average.  Arctic Ice extent as measured by satellites has shown somewhat of a comeback but is still much below the 1979 thru 2010 average.  Time will tell.  I think the PDO going into a cooler phase will have an effect as well.
