I have never seen these guys before, but I found the link to another pro met forecast on another board. Can't say I agree with it, but it sure would make me happy. :)

  1. winterlove says:

I saw this today, but I haven't taken much out of it mostly because it's website is based in Ohio, and the Ohio Valley happens to be where they've centered the majority of the bad weather. I don't know if it's biased, or if it truely is the OV's turn for an epic winter.

Looking at it again, it does lie similar with alot of other forecasts that I've seen. Such as:

The NE/NW sides of the US are polar opposites, below normal temps for NW/above for NE. Warmer/drier for the south, near-above average for the MW and central US. I'm still not sure about the Mid Atlantic and Ohio Valley being the center of attention, though. What does everyone else think?

  2. dad_to_3 says:

I certainly hope so, I live not even a mile from the Ohio. I'm ready and waiting for some major snow. Now if we can just get the highs down into the 80's at least for now I would be happy.

  3. Flake Fan says:

Interesting forecast…but that website is terribly slow.

it is very slow, but it had my area under normal snowfall, when most r sayin above average on here, so idk if i can completely believe it, trust u guys more, and he said its guesses 2

  5. winterlove says:

If you leave a comment he'll give specific city forecasts. He seems to know what he's talking about. I haven't left one yet, mostly because he seems kind of biased with Ohio's weather this season.

    Hello Winterlove,
    I am Jimmy from Neoweather.com

I think I have also seen your comments at accuweather also but I would like to respond to your general observation.

I do weather for Northeast Ohio which is similar but is very different from the Ohio Valley.  I don't know anyone there really and there would be no reason to 'wishcast'.

As far as Ohio, with storms, with this La Nina storm track storms show a very moderate risk for big snow storms.

More observations I have been criticized for:
    (Quoted from another forum)

“But anyways, Many said it wont be a la nina by the time winter gets here, but thats lnot even a question any more. I see the La Nina at a strong point during the beginning of Winter but holding that spot. So pretty much a moderate to strong la nina all winter.

Here is my logic to saying that spot from PA to TX of Above Average Precip is going to happen. With La Nina there arent as many storms that drift along the southeast, also they arent Nor' Easters. But they are Runner or as I like to say Pan Handles (Originating from the OK/TX Pan Handle Area) and when one of those sets up- and uses the moisture it drops a lot of wet snow and rain in that above average snow (with moderate to strong La Nina)

And the area near Washington is where the systems really originate so they get a very wet winter. “

I am thankful for the links you have sent to my website winterlove and do enjoy talking about the forecast.

BTW: IT WOULD BE COOL IF YOU GUYS WOULD SHARE THIS PAGE BECAUSE AT MY WEBSITE THIS AUGUST ALL MY AD REVENUE IS GOING TO CHARITY.

So you're still sticking to your forecast for the OV? Has anything changed?

hey do u think that fort wayne could see some blizzards this winter, curious, id like some, i only remember 1 and it was not a very good 1, id also go with major snowstorms 2, i just want a good winter

  9. neoweather says:

    For now, yes Winterlove.

And Blizzardlord I am calling for some big snowstorms but blizzard isnt as likely- a little to random to forecast.

  10. winterlove says:

An Ohio Valley blizzard sounds nice. I was so jealous of D.C and Virginia last year.

  11. FatherFrost says:

Looks like us VA folks are in for near normal snow according to you. I can deal with that. :)

winterlove said:An Ohio Valley blizzard sounds nice. I was so jealous of D.C and Virginia last year.

If you were south of Richmond it was a lot snowier than usual but nothing to be jealous of.

We had 17.5″ of snow, 175% of avg. However, despite how snowy this past winter was, it was not our snowiest like DC and PHIL.

Our snowiest winter occured during the 1940's. Cant remember exactly which one but I know that during that winter, Norfolk Intl Airport measured a total winter snowfall of 40+ inches!!!! :)

  13. arkansasdolfan says:

I asked in the comments of your page, but I might as well ask here as well, but do you have any specific thoughts on West Arkansas?

  14. winterlove says:

Well Jim, I think you should stick around here through the winter months, kind of like the second WJP. I personally find your forecasts very intriguing, and it'd be cool to hear more from you around here once winter rolls around.

  15. neoweather says:

Ok Winterlove, will do. I will especially be back to post my updates in September/November.  Who knows what could change!

    Not too slow for me.

  17. neoweather says:

Hey guys! Its been a couple months, and after careful study over the past few months I did the video for my Official Winter Forecast!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..NPM9ac5OTc

    That should answer your questions…

  18. wjp2011111 says:

Good luck on your winter forecast Neo, you'd be a superstar if you nail this one!  While I may not agree, I find your outlook very intriguing, as many have said already.

    Cheers! :D

I would love alot of snow but a blizzard not a big fan of here in Ohio I have never been in one or I just was to little to remember lol my aunt lives in D.C. and she couldn't even get out of her house when they got all that snow ladies had to make a chain holding hands just to get over the snow mounds on the streets to get to the convenient store which had no food they were running out of food. I like the 10-12 inches in a storm nothing over that I'm still capable of getting around Smile
