My bicycles. All 11 of them.

Hey forum, what's up? Most of y'all know me from the “Weather” half of the forums. I usually don't venture out of that realm honestly, but I feel that I should make one of my favorite hobbies known. A gentleman named “Grandin” had made a comment about one of my bikes. Feeling oh so flattered, I desided to show off what little bit of a collection I have. A buddy of mine has a mind blowing collection of muscle bikes..and bikes in general, which my bikes don't hold a candle too. But, here they are…

Here we have my 2004 or so Haro V-1 mountain bike. This is my EVERYTHING bike. I upgraded the wheels to Specialized Hardrock rims, and Avid Juicy BB-7 model disk brakes. Its a BEAST. Fast as crap in my opinion.

This is my 2001 or so Mongoose Styleist-Pro. I got it from my uncle, who didn't want it anymore. This is the only true stunt bike I have. It feels like a tank when you ride it becuase its so heavy Tongue out. Only upgrades to it at the rear brake lines, stem, handle bars (from an old Schwinn Predator), and handle bar grips.

This is my seemingly rare Turantula BMX bike. I have never seen another one like it. I got it becuase its a 24 inch. My aunt paid 5 bucks for it at a yard sale. Only upgrade to it is the seat post, from a Mongoose Gravity Games bike.

Here is my 1987 Skyway 280-TA. Its modified just a little bit. The 280-TA model was said to only be in production for about 2 or three years. I seen the frame, handlebars, fork, and some Skyway pads go for 300 bucks on eBay a while back. Good times.

This one is my Huffy West Coast Chopper bicycle. It doesn't really suit the collection, BUT I got it because it was odd. Found it on Craigslist for 45 bucks. It rides like a DREAM.

This one is my Schwinn Stingray chopper. Y'all probably remember seeing these at Wal-Mart for like..200 bucks. I only paid 60 for it, and there isn't a single thing wrong with it.

This one is a TRUE classic. The 1968 Schwinn Stingray Fastback. Needs a tube for the rear tire though CrySorry for the blurriness.

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9/rick_AFC/Stingray.jpg

This one is a rather modified Huffy PorkChopper bike. The only thing that is stock on this thing is the seatpost and forks!

This is my good ole' 1968 Columbia Playboy. This thing is very stout, and cruises easy.

This is my Bratz bike. Wal-Mart sold these bikes for 100 bucks back in 2005 I think. This bike was bought by my grandpa shortly befor he died. I told him I wanted the bike…but I only had 60 bucks. He asked me how much I needed to get it. I told him about 40 bucks. He then grabbed his wallet, handing me 40 bucks cash. He then told me “Go get that bike, and bring it home. I want to see it.” If it wasn't for my grandpa, I wouldn't know some of the stuff about bikes that I know today. This bike stays inside in the guest bedroom 24/7. I RARELY take it outside. This bike is his memorial, from me. May you rest in peace paw-paw. I love you.

Last but not least, this is my 1953 Columbia cruiser. Its a blast to ride. A bit odd as well…but still fun to roll out, and be seen on.

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9/rick_AFC/IMG_20100823_234310.jpg

And there you have it. My collection of bicycles. I am STILL looking to make it grow, but not untill I have a job. Thanks for lookin. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

First and formost…I have a new bike. Please welcome my new Specialized Fatboy! From the early 90s. Paid 25 bucks for it, from Craigslist Cool.

    http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9/rick_AFC/IMG_20101121_112922.jpg

Came with a fudgeing heavy three peice crank, but I honeastly put that on my Skyway. Here is an updated photo of it, complete with the chrome wheels. I'm honestly iffy on the crank. It doesn't really suit the bike in my opinion. The crank's arms are bigger than the frame's tubing after all.

But anyway, my uncle did the Christmas Light idea with his old R/C racer way back when. I've thought of quite a few things to do with the amp to make it a little more appealing, instead of straight up BLAH. I've even thought about removeing the current light's curcuit board, leaving just the transparent plastic that covers the blue Planet Audio emblem, and placeing simple blue LEDs inside the amp, lighting up some of the electronics. Sony has an amp that uses the same idea, except without the LED idea. I'm still thinking. I'll come up with something. Oh…its time to go “Back in the day”. Here are two photos. The one with the two WHITE amps is my old set up, the one I had BEFOR I got my current amp. The amp after the two white amps, is a rather old amp I had a year or two ago. That thing was heavy as sh*t bro. And BIG. The Larger amp had a blue transparent plastic, with a chrome metal strip going down the middle of it, on the outside. On the other side of the plastic, where the chrome strip went across and covered the plastic, I had a cheap blue LED bar from Wal-Mart that I wired to the amp, lighting up all the electronics. It looked good…but the amp was…a peice of sh*t. It played…but it had many problems. You don't always have to wire everything directly to your battery, depending on the object's power pull. The blue LED bar was tapped into the Remote, and Ground lines of my amp. The postive wire was soldered to the remote, and ground wire was wired to the amps ground line. When I turned the car on, the light turned on with the amp becuase it was wired to the remote wire's terminal. The remote wire is designed to turn the amp on and off. Hence the term, remote wire.

I'm glad to hear your Jag is coming along man. No joke. Cant wait to see the progress.

I'm still lookin' for that cool spell. I beleive there might be one coming in the next 7-10 days for S.C.

  2. Grandin says:

And for S.C. like me you should have gotton your cold spell a long time ago but the weather pattern changed big time. And we get cold shots nothing major that stays which sucks. But i feel in mid december the winds will change for the better in the east son. And the west will become mild and wet. sometimes very wet

    Dan

  3. The Rickster says:

I'm looking forward to that change dude. No joke. Its been cool here today honestly. The wind was blowing lightly, when it blew…it went right through you. Its 43 outside right now, on our way down to a low in the lower 30s. If you wanna see whats up with my area's weather, enter in 29053 as the zip on whatever weather organization you go through. I've gotten to where I'll check on the areas that I visited in Cali. I get pissed off when I see Tahoe, CA most of the time. They had a low of -1 not to long ago, according to the Weather Channel.

I doubt I'll have a nicer car than you. I've never seen either one of your vehicals.

Sounds like a plan for the Jag. I'll be watching for'em.

  5. The Rickster says:

I love that mustang. Yes the truck is nice…but I'm a car guy honestly. I like'em fast, low, and loud. I wouldn't do anything to that Stallion except make it a raw BEAST. After all, it is an American Muscle Car.

I am pleased to welcome my twins to the faimly!

My matching Schwinn Saburban bicycles. The girls bike is from March of 1976 and the guys bike is from July of 1975. The difference in decals made me relize the difference in years. I told bike man I wanted them, so he sold'em to me for 60 bucks. I was about to buy a ported speaker box for 50 bucks, but I figured the bikes would be a smarter investment. The box can obtained any day of the week, but the bikes might only show up once, in a person's given life time. To have a matching set though is awesome. The ONLY thing that bugs me is the rear wheel on the guys Saburban is not stock. Luckaly, the rear wheel off of my old Varsity is the one I need. I'll switch them out eventually. My favorite is the girls bike. It drips with class. Its beautiful. Photos do not do it justice.

Thats awesome that your from Tahoe! I love it up there bro. Its beautiful. I wish I could afford to live up there. One day, maybe I will. Untill then…I'll mark that as a epic fail Cry. My girlfreind's dad does work on houses in that area, and the Donner Lake area too. He says homes up there can easily reach a million and above. I like…fu**……………….EPIC FAIL. Its a beautiful area. I love up in the Sierra man. No lie.

It was actually pretty chilly here today. Highs didnt get out of the 50s. Some places probably hit the 60s…but I doubt we did. It was cold. And that wind. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Hey man, have you ever listened to a song called “Fiction” by Avenged Sevenfold? Its wild man. Their drummer, The Rev (who is dead) sings in it. People say that the song is his “goodbye to the world”. I doubt that. I THINK the song was written way back in their early days. They just never got it into an album, untill the Release of “Nightmare”. The Rev passed on December 28th, 2009, found dead in his Huntington Beach, CA home. At first, they ruled his death as “Natrual Causes”. But then they turned around and labled it as death by mixture of perscription drugs and alchohal. Its a very powerful, and moveing song. Creepy though becuase of the way the Rev sings, and the Piano too. Britney (my girl) says that he was watching over us, becuase we had a head on collison at 50 MPH on December 31st, 2009. We lived. He didn't. Makes me ask WTF you know? But anyway, I'm outta here for the time being.

Later bro. Thanks for shareing the photos!

As for the bikes, yes that is a reflector on the rear fender. Both the girls and boy's Schwinn have them. They'er stock.

You got a system in your Mustang? Do tell.

And yeah bro. this cold is here for a while. Weather man says he doesn't see it breaking untill mid December. Works for me.

Hell ya i got the bump bump in my stang. I got 21 inch mickeys in my trunk thats custom speakers. Mickeys are usaly tires But there is a mickey speaker that was sold way back in the 90's and i saved my old speakers and sand blasted the wood and re wired the speakers and just custom decked em out. And for my amps and switches there a name brand marshall 150 volt more the volt the better it bumps the speaker inner bass. and i did what u did on the wiren i wrote it all down and showed it to my buddy Joey and he wired it to the tee. Where when i turn on my car it turns on my amps and lamps it's a blackout effect amp light. When i show my finished bike ill show u my system too. But if u jam slipknot or pantera even lamb of god it will blow your mind away and cut your hearing out for like 45 mins. Me and joey go way out in the country to drive around and toke up and jam my system it's godly brother. And my truck i just have stock will get a system in my truck sooner or later i mainly use it for work really. But now that winters coming and snow ill prolly store it till spring and use my truck.

And i told cha ricky that the cold was coming in january you all will have a warm up but in mid febuary it will get cold again before spring and summer settle in..

And sic i got something right on a bike YES! lol but thats pimp reflectors are good least u wont get bumped in the ass by a car.

    Dan

  9. The Rickster says:

I'm glad for the cold. Its wild. We got down to 16 a few nights ago man. We broke a record in Columbia I beleive. Then you have the little hole in the wall towns, like one called Cedar Creek, located in S.C. as well. Its nothing for them to reach 10 degrees on nights where we in Gaston reach 17 or something. My specific location is usually cold as well. We live a mile or two away from stores and stuff. When Maverick and I ride our bikes down that way twords “town”, it warms up probably 2-5 degrees. Its wild man, to go from temps so cold that you can see your breath…to sweating almost.

I wanna see your system bro. Sounds nasty. And yes, that is true. The more volts you feed the system, the better it performs. Thats why alotta people that have monsterous amounts of power do the Big Three Upgrade. The Big Three is the fallowing. 1. Alternator. 2. Battery. 3.Amp's wiring.  Some people simply upgrade the battery's ground wiring, and the positive wire that goes to the alternator to allow more current to flow. I've heard you can get upwards of 30% more juice from a stock charging system like that. My alt puts out roughly 65 amps, which isn't much at all. But, one way you can tell whats up is if your head lights dim alot…or in some cases, strobe. If they do that then you have a problem. I'm not pushing 600 watts RMS. The way I have my amp wired, I could if I wanted to but I never have my radio's subwoofer channel in the positives, and my amp's gain is a little past half. My bass boost is on though but not all the way. It gives me 18 DBs of headroom. I might have it on like…5 or 6 and thats it. But my lights don't dim. Having that capacitor helps too. Im some cases, they won't though. I'll be looking out for the system, and bike photos bro. Count on that. But hey…here is a photo of my Schwinn shirt. Its awesome.

Hell ya that is wild to go from seeing your breath to allmost sweating. And awsome i like your cold out there u must be really stoked to get the cold now cause all summer long you had to endure the hot and humidty etc. Like i did i was really happy when it got cold and stayed cold yaya heh.

And ya my system in my GT is sic dude. I'm gonna take pictures of it and my WWII bike as well it's about compete all there is left is a chain to be placed on and the tires and tweak the brakes and villoa it's done. Keep youreyes on a look out for my pics. And the way u stock charge yer stuff is a good idea ill have to make a mental note of that man for sure.. And nah 65 amps is weak dude yer right hahaha thats like droppin a quater weak. And i bte your bass in your car bumps see we need to live down the road we can bump our systems and rock out the town people would be sick of us really fast heh. And your maverick friend and u and me would loose our hearing cause we'd be jamming so loud and for so long. And that shirt is awsome your making me jealous rick! Where did you get that shirt cause id like to buy one!! Or ill have one made but i would if u wanna be orginal but that schwinn shirt is nice. looks all vintage i like vintage style t's
