YAY! We're finally gonna be getting the cool down we deserve, along with some rain. Both of the popular news channels (WIS-10 AND WLTX-19) has us down for a cool down begining Sunday, with highs in the middle 80s. Monday, highs in the lower-mid 80s, and Tuesday, highs in the mid 80s. Lows will be upper 50s to lower 60s. Argh, I'm sooo looking forward to it!

I am looking forward to that 82 degrees on Sunday here in NE Georgia. We have been hot since about the end of May..I believe. July and August were absolutely horrid with intense heat and humidity, with the exception of the last weekend…strange. Anyhow I am grateful for the impending arrival of more tolerable weather.

I'll do you one better. The GFS shows us with a high of 72 on Sunday, 68 on Monday, 69 on Tuesday, 72 on Wednesday, 73 on Thursday, and 75 on Friday!

    Heck yeah!

Get Ready North Carolina for a very cold and very dry winter, possibly February could be 4-8 degrees below normal and December and January too. I do not believe in a “January Thaw” for North Carolina.

    God bless!!!

I'm still a wee bit skeptical on the location of an anomalously strong closed low the GFS and ECMWF keep bringing into the area this weekend and next week. The GFS has been the farthest west but the 12z ECMWF has also resorted back to its westerly position too instead of brining it over the eastern U.S. like it was showing in yesterday's runs. We'll see. If the GFS solution is correct then a lot of us in the south and east will be able to enjoy a much welcome relief from the heat.

Has anyone seen the 6z GFS at hours 276 and 288?  If, and a big if at that, were to verify, SC and NC would get dumped to death with rainfall.  QPF totals are probably being overdone though (up to 4.00)!!!  That would definitely bust the drought and heat combined with the cooler air. Cool

Looks like I've got a thunderstorm heading for my area.  Feels good out there now that the sun went behind the clouds.  Hoping to get lots of rain at the house. Smile   Couple of pics. of the sky, btw.
