In N.C there are black wooly worms, birds mirgated super-early, leaves falling late, flowers bloomed in autumn, animals have thick fur and tons of fat on them. When this happens here in N.C we 90%-100% have a cold winter and a bunch of snow, even in la nina years. This year will not act like a la nina year, it will act with a -NAO and a -AO and the east coast will end up snowier and colder than the west coast, sort of like last year.
The West Coast is getting off to s super start to winter, but in Dec. like last year it will wind down and the real cold and snowy winter shall begin in the east.
So if u.s easterners don't see tru cold for November, wait 'till December, that is when our winter will trully start to crank up.

Do you live in the SE? We experience hot and humid usually in the summer and sometimes during late Spring. I don't believe it has ever been hot and humid in the winter.
Hot and humid compared to normal winters. Very little snow, below normal rain and temps well above average. That does not mean we will not have cold spells. They will just be fewer and milder than average.
