Yep. A cold snap is coming all of you eastern folks! I checked my 7 day on the local news a bit ago and starting thursday highs will be in the mid-upper 40's here slam into next week.
The models finally caught on to the idea of a cold snap. Now it's time to watch the potential storm for the 7th through the 9th. So far all we can really say is it looks like a S. Stream piece of energy. Everything else is up in the air. We'll see.

heh if u think the upper 40's is a cold snap you havent experinced a true cold snap. come live in northwest indiana. you will get snows by the 12 or 15 inches and temps in the 20's and teens in decembers and januarys. Upper40's around here at this time is a warm front.

The definition of a cold snap depends on ones location. I live in southern VA. Our average high this time of year is in the upper 50's. So our temps will be ranging about 10-12 degrees below average over the next 2 weeks…on avg. I like it here in VA. It may not snow a lot, but that's why it is so special when it does snow. Living somewhere where it snows a lot, it would get old fast.
Yesterday the high was right at freezing, and right now it's at 33! Today we got down to 14 degrees, I wasn't expecting it to get that cold, but it certainly was quite invigorating!
I'm glad that someone is below average… my low temperature was 17 degrees ABOVE AVERAGE last night. There was snow falling from the sky, but it all melted as it hit the ground as it was 36 degrees outside. What a waste!
