Surprise mini-Snowstorm hit Central and SE Va today!

Yep. It started flurrying about 4 or so in the morning. It really picked up around 7 AM.

WWA's were issued and lasted until 9AM…however…it KEPT snowing.

So then they were extended until 10 AM…10AM came and it was STILL SNOWING.

So then they were extended to 12 Noon. And right on the dot it stopped around 12.

We were only forecast to see flurries today but this surprise mini-Snowstorm brought widespread accumulations of 1-3″. Most people saw around 2″.

Our total snowfall this Met Winter so far is 2.25″. That's a pretty good start! :) There are more snow chances for Thursday, Saturday, and next Tuesday. :D

So it looks like the snowy call wasn't a bust afterall. ;)

Next Tuesday?!?  Say what??????Smile  What a wonderful surprise the snow turned out to be yesterday.  Yes we were well aware of “flurries”; but a couple inches of snow took us completely by a wonderful surprise!  The best part…it's still around today:)  Yepeeeeeeee!  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (In my Bing Crosby voice:)

Congratulations Virginia, it's nice to see you getting in on the action. As I've said a couple of times already, I think surprise snow is the best kind!
