Can someone please explain for me… Why the systems have been reaching Ohio/NW Pa/Western NY, and they just head straight south or fall apart?!?! Is there something there blocking that isn't showing up on anything or that I'm not seeing??

Yesterday's National Weather Service discussion for my area mentioned a ridge that was causing the storms to divert to the south.
Yeah, and it looks like the ridge is going to remove itself in time… just to let the warm air up.
Heck, even our snowbelt regions for Ohio and NW Pa are waaaaaaaaaaay below normal this time of season. Just extremely odd.
