Let the late december/January thaw begin. On new years eve around here it's gonna be 50 out for a day time high and with some pretty good rains. So that 17 inches of snow we got last monday will be a thing of the past or the pack will melt 98 percent of the snow. And for the eastcoast you getting 15 plus inches of snow right now but in about a week your warm up will begin as well. and last for till late febuary im thinking. There calling for a major winter storm in northwest indiana/chicagoland area on or around the 10th of january but i dont see it im sorry it will be to warm. But the weather changes all the timeso it might favor the snow lovers. But all the models at this time agree that next winter. Winter 2011/2012 will be down right cold with good sized snowstorms often not just once in awhile but thats a long time off. Anyways i hope you all had a good christmas. And when new years comes up in 6 days PLEASE PLEASE dont drink and drive if you wanna party  bring a sober driver or stay the night at your buddys house. I gotta go to bed i got work tomorrow. And to anyone who is reading this fourm and your on the eastcoast take pics of the blizzard and post em on here for sure! Stay warm and safe all.

Dan

I think your being to hard Grandin… this warmup is only supposed to last a day or so. Then back to normal temps!!! I think we'll see more storms, granted that this major low and warm up has either destroyed or moved the ridge that has been screwing us out of snowstorms all month. :)

You sound so depressed, think postive.  Beieve me, I need the snow and cold. Without it I'm sunk work wise.  We haven't had one plowable snow yet.  I hoping for a good storm soon with at least 4-6 inches in the low lands.  We dont go out for New years, we just kick back here at home.   Hope you all have a good one.  Karen
