Well the past month and a half has had most of the east experiencing well below normal temperatures. But according to several of the extended forecasts I have seen, warmer air will be here soon. The most recent 15 day forecast from accuweather has NC seeing multiple days at 60 and above. I hope winter did not begin and end with December!

To wjp's credit, this is something he predicted several months ago, and now more and more models are beginning to lock onto this solution for much of the eastern US. I don't think we can say winter is over, but the worst of it may likely be over for the SE.
Some say January is not the warm month but Feburary is.
You guys are being to harsh and to quick… leave a little optomism. Remember, all the short/long range forecasts have been constantly changing up until the last 48. Don't count your chickens yet.
