Spring snow today and tonight

Just as the snowpack in my yard was getting close to nothing, we’re getting a fresh 2-4 inches of snow today. Right now very large snowflakes are falling.. very fun to watch. As the ground is still frozen, the snow did not have any problems accumulating.

Looks like an unseasonably chilly week, with high temperatures struggling to get out of the 30s.

I’ve had constant snow cover since December 22.

A stark contrast from March 2010!

Overperformer… 6 inches of fresh snow! Everything is coated once again!

And with the February-like temperatures forecast for the rest of the week, I have a shot at continuous snow cover into the first days of April.

Your sooooooo lucky !!!!!   I wish we would get hit with 6+ inches.   Enjoy it for me !   Go out and make snow angels !!!  LOL

Haha, yeah. It’s especially nice now that some of my winter snowpack has melted and I actually have somewhere to put the snow. At the end of February ,I was thinking that if it snowed in early March I’d be in big trouble. Well thankfully it didn’t snow then, so I dodged a bullet.
The snow has already started to melt, but still have a fair amount on the ground. And to think I had perennials out of the ground at this time last year, LOL.

I keep feeling like we’re going to have and early spring cold snap, but I think at this point, it’s just wishful thinking, but I can’t help feeling like the cold isn’t done with us yet.  I live in Central TX, so it really wouldn’t be THAT unusual, but from the people I’ve talked to, it just seems like wishful thinking.  Maybe I need to take a trip somewhere north.  LOL!  It’s frozen here as late as May.  Back in 1990 when my husband and I were planning our wedding, the family went camping the first weekend in May.  It was hot the first day, then that night the temps dropped and there was frost everywhere and it was near freezing the next day.  Luckily, we’ve both lived in Texas for the biggest majority of our lives and knew that no matter what time of year it is, if you go camping, you pack for ALL the weather, so we were prepared.  :)

Same here! We’re supposed to get 1-3″ tonight, then maybe a bigger snowstorm Monday or Tuesday. After a couple days in a row of mid 80′s, this feels awful no matter how beautiful snow is!

Another heavy trace of snow today. Up to 93 inches on the season now.
