I use a mixture of 1 clove of garlic to 1 gallon of water. Keeps all the bug’s off my plants. Just strain the mixture and add to a spray bottle. Spray leaves and vegetables.

I have had the same problem with my Okra plants the last few years. I suggest applying diatomaceous earth around the base of the plants. It deters ants from crawling up the base of the Okra plants. After 3 or 4 weeks, re-apply since it will likely have been ground into the soil from rain by then.
