I am not sure but I talked to a local meteorologists near my area and ask if he had any ideas yet on this fall or winter and he said he was still working on his fall outlook and said there is a lot of different things being said about this fall and winter so we shall see!!

  2. SnowSE says:

well, what did he say about this winter and fall?

  3. sonnysnow92 says:

he didnt tell me about this fall he said he will have his fall forecast Aug. 25th and he said he hasn’t  started on his winter outlook yet but that will be in Nov.

  4. sonnysnow92 says:

Wind chill temperatures plummeted to -9 Celsius, -6C in Dunedina, -5C in Wellington and -2C in Taupo. New Zealand has not had a nationwide cold snap of this severity in 16 years

  5. sonnysnow92 says:

looking little dry toward TX otherwise icy

  6. fatima20 says:

The southeast, will most likely have a pretty bad and severe winter, and so will the great lakes, mid atlantic, and northeast.

  7. romanian says:

When will this southeast N.C. heat end and cool down begin?
When can N.C expect first frost?
    God bless!

  8. fatima20 says:

I live in southeast virginia. I think we’ll both cool off by late september. But, a cold snap will push in veryy quickly in early october, and by the end of the winter in march, boy, you’ll wish that winter hadn’t came! LoL. I know my first frost date is november 16th, so I’d say your frost date’s around November 30 -ish.

  9. romanian says:

Will it cool down before then?  (August)

Will  this winter be colder/snowier than last> How do you know?
When will fall start for N.C?
    God bless!

  10. fatima20 says:

I don’t think it’ll cool down in august but you know what? That’s great, because if we get a really bad heat wave in august and brutal 100 degree days, it will signify a very severely bd snowy and cold winter. This winter belongs to the east coast( mid-atlanti, southeast, deep south, and northeast), in particular. This winter will definetly be worse than normal. Compared to last year, the winter just seemed bad because of a few storms, but this winer, it’ll be a thing where we get atleat one snowstorm a week, onc we get into late december! aybe worse! as some say this could be the worst winter on record for 3/4 of the country! and the other 1/4 will still see some winter-like weather for most ofthem. I know this stuff, as I am using weatherlore(weather folklore), and information from different sources and sites compiled into one synopsis which is that this winter will surely be bad! LOL! Fall for North Carolina and here in Virginia will start in september this year, instead of november! God less. Can’t wait to here from you in a few minutes!

  11. romanian says:

Can N.C anticipate e first frost around the 1st of October or earlier?
What will be our average winter temperatures this season for N.C?
Will we get a lot of snow, aboout how much?
    God bless, thanks!

  12. fatima20 says:

I doubt if a frost will happen that early for us. Not even Minnesota gets it earlier than that, but i think that’s around their first frost. Do you love frost? I think they say if your frost is early, it will be an early start to a bad winter. This winter, averages for C could be the 30s to 50s with many days in the 30s or worse! Southeast virginia many days in 30s and 40s, middle of north carolina many days in the 60s-70s and as well for southern north carolina, 50-70s, bu there will be plenty of snowy cold days. These are just some normal days but there may not be too many of these warm normal days. There may be well over 5 storms of 5 inches or snow or more. Totaling 25 inches easily! This winter will be very interesting as fall approaches, things will be very severe.

I don’t think it’ll get that bad in the south-east.  As I said up-thread,  just mentally adding up an average from stuff I’ve read (which has run from below average, to average, to above average in temps and snow) I think we’ll get one or two “storms” but nothing major– maybe not as bad as last year even– but the temps will swing wild and we’ll see a lot of ice.

  14. sonnysnow92 says:

anyone else plan on making a forecast map out??

That’s not even too bad of a winter(5 storms of 5 inches). It may be wore than that! Last winter, even the deep south had 2 storms with a good 10 inchesor more of snow totaling at 20 inches or more, and this winter people, are saying will not even be close to last winter’s weather, and is expected to be worse, in fact one of the worst I repeat the worst winter on record. This isn’y nothing(5 storms of 5 inches0. We’re taliking major storms throughout the season, so can you even imagine howmuch worst this winter’s potential has? Like I’ve said in other blogs, this winter may look even worse than new york just by late january. So, it may be twice more than 25 inches. Atleast 30 inches for us here in the mid atlantic. This winter truly is no joke. Some maps I saw, had the mid atlantic and southeast in the coldest zone, including us here in southeastern virginia! This is something to really consider lol. Chat witcha T John. I know it’s hard to believe. THis climate is changing for the south.
