Apple Picking!

My family has a fall-tradition of picking apples and pumkpins the first week of October–we’re going tomorrow. Do any of you have a similar traditions?

We like to pick apples in October too. We went out recently and bought a bunch of macs and courtlands. They’re delicious. The apple farmers are having a very good season so far up here.

I also like apple cider… it’s my favorite drink. My favorite part is that you can drink it either cold or hot depending on your mood. I prefer apple cider with a very high macintosh blend (can you tell it’s my favorite type of apple?)

Our tradition is to drive west on 64 to the mountains and watch the beautiful fall foliage.  This year I think that we’ll pick apples too!  Lots of festivals and such during my favorite time of the year!

Apples were ready very early (end of August) this year… I took advantage of it by picking a peck of Macs and have already drank apple cider and eaten apple cider donuts. Looks like a good year for apple farmers once again.

Apple Cider donuts?  Sounds delicious!  If you can get the recipe let me know!  Thanks!

I didn’t make them, I bought them from the orchard. Sorry. :(
