Dan
Yes, I want snow!! haha
What about South Carolina and the south period? Will we get any of this?Get so sick of hearing about the northeast and midwest getting all the chill/cold.
This pattern is going to happen, because already they are showing signs of the next winter storm in Colorado for late next week, and it appears as though it will drag in alot of cold air with it.
Already the Weather Channel predicts it to fall into the mid 40s with mid to upper 20s for lows with a chance of rain and snow showers, and with that wave, colder air will indeed be pushed eastward into the Midwest/Great Lakes, and eventually into the Northeast.
Yeah but no South Carolina as usual. That sucks.
Snowboi1 we will get our fair share of cold weather this winter. I think it is fairly normal for the mid-west and upper great lakes region to get the cold blasts first because they are much closer to Canada than we are. Just hang in there.
If I remember correctly the first snow for the rocky mountain region is usually right before or around Halloween but its typically not a big snow. Is a ten inch snow unusual for your area this early Sapporo1?
@MSSouthernGirl I’d love a 10″ snow in October! I live in SW BC, Canada.
Yeah, here in Ohio we’re conducting our “dry runs” for DOT. Making sure all the equipment is ready to go in each county. So far the weather forecasters for the Northern Ohio/North Central Ohio are hinting at a harsh winter for us…
Just a little quote from their TV interview with DOT…
“You guys only have 80 trucks for Lake County (Painesville, Ohio), then you better get a rush order in to double that amount for this winter”. We’ll see how well it holds true. A couple stations in Cleveland are releasing their forecasts on Sunday.
On a side note… 18z GFS is spitting out some impressive suggestions for next week!!!
I live here in Maryland and after so much rain we have been having this year, I got a feeling we are going to be in for a pretty snowy winter this time for the Mid-Atlantic region. Not just for the northeast.
Where at in Ohio do you live Plowman? I live in Greenup County, Right across the river from the Ironton area.
