Pattern Shift?

Local news & NOAA seem to be toying with a pattern shift at the end of the 7 day projection. Can anyone shed any light on it, or share your opinion(s)? Current talks are a temp drop and may be some snow. I think we will pay for this mild start to winter. Local woolly worm forecast said (for central IL) that winter would start mild, turn snowy, then turn dry at the end. So far so good.

I thought I was the only one who saw this.  Yes, our Local Met precautionally (if that’s a word:)  mentioned that the “computers” are “hinting” at some snow for next Tue through Thursday!  How cool would that be?

It looks like its going to be more flurries than snow. System isn’t that strong on GFS and ECMWF

I’ll play the pessimist.   Its not going to change soon, much less soon enough.   my gut says we’ll be well into Jan. before any serious winter breaks out.

    lets hope I’m wrong.

Yeah probably a rain event. :(   I get so bummed out when we don’t get any snow.  We haven’t seen a flurry this season!  The past two or three years have spoiled me.

Yeah I am with you all… its disappointing for sure. We finally had a snow here the other day lil over an inch and it was gone by the early afternoon. Come on Mother Nature we need you to talk with your boys, Snow Miser and Heat Miser… They need to get along again so we can get some snow! Thank you.
