Coastal Alaska, Yukon, and Northern B.C will receive flurries on New Year’s eve, which eventually turns to heavier snow on January 1st.

The Pacific Northwest, Prairies, and Midwest will receive flurries or showers and strong winds as moisture moves Eastward. Prairies and Midwest will get clear skies on New Year’s day, while the rest remains cloudy.

Snow is possible over Atlantic Canada, but the rest of the Northeast will be cloudy with some sun. Extreme cold will settle over Quebec, and  Newfoundland and Labrador. Temperatures will dip to near -20 C.

California, and the Southeast will be warm as usual.
