We are forecasting for some snow to to arrive in Pacific Northwest Friday, January 13. to Saturday, January 14.
A northerly flow will bring cold air to many areas overnight Friday into Saturday.
Most of the snow will fall over higher terrain, but some wetsnow or mixed precipitation is possible over low elevation areas in northern PNW, especially early Saturday when temperatures drop to near freezing.
Snowfall amounts will range from trace to about 10 cm in lower elevation, but reach as high as 30 cm in the mountains.
Cold will likely remain for several days.
The system will move southeast into Southern Alberta, bring 5-20 cm of snow.
Rocky mountains in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Northern of Nevada, Northern Utah, Northern Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, and Nebraska all may receive snow from January 13-16. Snowfall range from trace to 30 cm.
A strong northerly wind will likely accompany this system.
