Will it EVER get colder with snowier conditions for northeast/mid atlatic?
I’M STILL WAITING FOR IT!

Hang in there Anthony we have Febuary yet to go through :)

  2. Anthonypilone01 says:

Yeah. And perhaps a little bit of March, too. I just don’t want it to be like it was last year 2011, which was a lot of lack of snow for Maryland so I am still hoping we’ll have better luck, come february.

  3. Jayne1954 says:

I know it was a bust for us here also in WV. Well hopefully Febuary will bring us some snow. Heck it is not out of the realm of possibility for snow in March either. Well I guess we will just have to wait and see.

we got snow last night, our 3rd for the season.   it was as wimpy as the first 2.  I suppose that  puts us up to maybe 5 inches for the season. :(

it was 40 degrees most of the day, came in as rain, then changed over to those big pretty flakes as it cooled off just enough to snow.  if it had been colder at the start we’d have had a nice snow!  as it is, we had a layer of ice and just enough wet snow to cover the grass.  it was 40 again today, so it was all gone by lunch.

I’m thinking about my veggie garden.  this may be a good year to make cold frames and get an early jump on the garden.

  5. Anthonypilone01 says:

yeah, your right, Jayne. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed. Until then, we’ll just have to keep dreaming of snow. But I won’t give up  :)

  6. Jayne1954 says:

No never give up Anthony :) I think we only had maybe 6 inches so far this winter and that is pathetic!!!!

  7. jabcv says:

Here in Morganton,nc we havent even saw a flurry or flake we have had 0 inches this year so I give up will let you know when we see snow :) !

  8. jabcv says:

Last year we had about 10 inches of snow now none :(

tell me about it anthony. hopefully things will change soon!

I’ve had 45 inches this year, but in spite of that I have hardly any snowpack on the ground right now. Every time it snows it seems to melt quickly.

  11. Jayne1954 says:

Hey Fatima!! welcome back and good to see ya on here again. Yeah we are still waiting for some desent snow here to in WV.. Maybe Febuary will give us some. Well we can ony hope, right??

I would just like to see it get cold enough for long enough here in Charleston SC to kill the bugs we have had now for a yr non-stop. I have azalea bushes full of buds, some have bloomed out, a backyard full of bloomed daffadils, tulips coming up and now leaves bursting out on trees that JUST LOST their leaves a couple months ago. Weirdest weather I have seen here since moving south from MD 4 yrs ago. Been basically in the mid 60′s to mid 70′s since Dec, with about 3 cold snaps that lasted all of a couple days.  I have a bad feeling this upcoming summer is going to be yet another brutal one down here. Guess I should be grateful I have had basically no electric bill this winter, but, the summer will be my payback. ha. I hope you all get your snow. Take care.

    @jabcv
    don’t give up, my friend!
Fatima, I hope your right and I agree that there is still time for the pattern to change into colder and snowier conditions in february

I’m glad I’m not the only one wanting much colder temperatures and LOTS snow!  All of my friends here in Chicago think I’m NUTS!  I LOVE winter and snow and am mourning at not having it.  I also have two big dogs that are wreaking havoc on my yard!  I get a reprieve from “Mud Fest” during the winter, but not this year…it just keeps going on and on :o (
I honestly do not remember ever having a “winter” like this one…teen temps one day and 45-50 degrees the next day…all winter long. What happened to all of the predictions of below normal temps and much more snowfall???  all of this freezing and thawing cannot be good for the trees and bulbs that are going to be fooled into thinking it’s spring. COME ON SNOW AND COLD!
Does anyone have any theories why the weather is the way it is?

  15. Anthonypilone01 says:

Groundhog saw it’s shadow.  6 more weeks of winter!
Now, all we need to colder temps to take place and to FINALLY have snow.

  16. Jayne1954 says:

Well Anthony we might see a dusting to an inch late Saturday night into Sunday morning, oh wow :( Some are still saying that they believe it will turn colder with snow this month. We can only hope, right? Let’s keep hoping Anthony :)
