While diet surely makes some difference, I think a lot of it is just genetics. Almost everybody in my family has acne when they are teenagers, and then it clears up in the early 20s. Some eat healthful, some do not. Some drink lots of water, some do not.

I've heard that sugar is actually the worst culprit. Try cutting down on sugar?

Hello,

Water has included lots of variables . This is a magic amount for everyone when you drink plenty of water . I would like to suggest we have drink Eight to eight --eight by 8 glass of water daily . The "right" amount for you depends on factors including your age, your activity level, your health level, medications you're taking .

When it comes to maintaining good skin, do you use just water? I'm 15, and have tried plenty of acne products. These past few days, I've been rubbing purified water into my skin, morning and night, and it seems to be working. However, my period will start in a few days, so I'm going to spot treat with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide (on the zit only).

I've noticed many people at my school have clear skin and don't wash their faces (girls and guys). I'm beginning to wonder if these past three years of OTC, Proactiv, and Retin-A has done more harm than help. Also, drinking plenty of water, and cutting out processed food (fast food too) helps.

What is your take on this? Has there been any products that have cleared you up? Everyone's skin and bodies are different. I want to see what you teens and adults use to maintain your skin.

The body requires water to survive and function properly. Humans cannot live without drinking for more than a few days - depending on weather, activity levels and other factors - whereas other nutrients may be neglected for weeks or months. Although commonly it is treated rather trivially, no other nutrient is more essential or is needed in such large amounts. Total body hydration and the balance between input and output of water are under homeostatic control by mechanisms which modify excretory pathways and stimulate intake (thirst).
