There were years in the late 1800′s that had hot marches. I think it’s more a fluke pattern that it happened, where all the right ingredients are there for the wrong reasons.
We’ve been messed up since the heatwave began last summer. We gained an extra month of heating, then lost a month winter, really. :p
Actually, if you look at the global departure map for the last few months, the world overall has been quite cool. Only one small region has been consistently above average: the US and southern Canada.
Remember, global warming/cooling is just that… global. Just because the weather is cold or hot in your backyard doesn’t mean the rest of the world is seeing the same departures.
In 2009-2010 Americans were asking “what happened to global warming, it’s freezing” while the rest of the world cooked.
