Long time no speak FA family. I hope you all been good?? I have a small question for anyone who may know. But what are the chances of having a cold and snowy winter for the lower great lakes? southern lake michigan area… Anyone have an idea or answer?? And i was on Lake Michigan yesterday on the boat in the middle about 50 miles away from shore line by the bayou and seen a killer wave come outta know where and when i got my camera the wave was gone. But im on the lake alot in the summer fishing or swimming. I dont think it was a rouge wave but it was tall..

No idea. Summer hasn’t arrived yet for me. Still getting lows below 50 with highs barely reaching 70 if at all. Lots of rain too almost every day. It’s not fun I tell you.
And here it’s been really hot hasn’t rained for about allmost 2 1/2 weeks. been in the 90′s mainly everyday. Our winter sucked warmest winter ever. Hottest and driest spring ever. And the guru’s at noaa say this sumer for alot of the country will be the hottest and driest ever. But i do here fall of 2012 will be cool to coldish with early snows and freezes. I don’t believe it not for one second. It was suppose to be all cold and snowy last winter alaska got all the fun. but as of right now Northwest Indiana is in a severe stage 5 drought. Send your rain and cool weatrher this way stuffraido?
Dan
Trust me, I know the woes of this terrible drought, but I don’t even need to tell you that Grandin, just look at the news and you will see a fiery hellscape coming out of my area, they have even set pre-evacuation orders for anyone west of I-25 even here in Palmer Lake, as well as Monument down to Colorado Springs.
The only thing that will save our precious towns now is some serious rainfall, lack of wind, and one hellaciously wet/stormy fall and winter
I’ll keep you and the rest of the good folks in Colorado in my prayers. Be safe!
im with snowlover. you got my thoughts and prayrers be SAFE in colorado please. I was suppose to go there with the family to pikes peak for 2 weeks to camp out and be a tourist. But change of plans were now going to Maine. We were there a few years ago and we loved it! Plus the Northeast peeps have allways been real nice to me and my family. Was even thinking about moving out to the northeast at one time and may after my parents move to flordia and my wifes parents move to lousiana. And update on out weather. really big thunderstorms blew up over lake michigan but fell apart just as it approached the shoreline. and once again blew up south of my town. So we got jipped again! and at 9:51 pm right now the air temp is 96 degrees and the index is 109. ugh!

If you visit Dan, you’ll at least get a vacation from drought. June brought us more than double our average rainfall (8+ inches) in the form of both thunderstorms and full days of rain. However, things are now drying out and we’re getting into the 80s and low 90s. For a few days water was steadily flowing into our basement underground because the water table was so high, and it put our sump pump to work. Thankfully the table finally went back down. Our veggie garden got off to a slow start because as soon as we planted everything the rain and cooler temperatures came in (no sun) but now things are taking off and our tomato plants are starting to flower at last. The blueberry bushes in our yard are really taking off as well, last year I got a ton of them and still have a few in the freezer from last year. I better eat them soon because I feel I’ll have a ton more in a few weeks.
And of course Northeasterners are nice to tourists… that’s where a lot of our money comes from… hahaha. Just remember if you ever do move to the NE in the future, some areas get much more snow than others. Stay away from the coast!
thats what i heard if u wanna see winter at it’s beat stay more inland rather then on the coast. and i hope eveyrthing worked out for u maineman. ya the rains there were good i heard. where im at it wont rain haha where in a ring of fire where it’s just hot blazing days with little or no rain. been in the 100′s for 4 days now! and me and the wife talked we wanna either move to maine or new hampshire. more inland then anything. i wanna build a log cabin in the middle of the woods and live ff the land. And that may be in our future real soon. But were going back to maine again at the end of july for 2 weeks were gonna be in kingfield, ME gonna hike and ride bikes and im gonna fish and etc, the kid is gonna bring his friend. it will be goodtimes once again! But to make this weather-ish i hear the heat and humidty will cease on saturday night a big cool down is on it’s way with some big time storms possible i hope it comes true! And i keep hearing how the midwest/northeast will have a coo to cold fall with early freezes and snows. But i heard all this last year and our winter sucked was warm and muggy very little snows and wasnt cold at all really. alaska got all the cold and snows. I been there before nice state. biggest state in america and only 275,000 live in it! Cause of the extreme weather that happens up there.
Dan
New Hampshire is a really nice state as well. Similar to Maine, but New Hampshire has fewer taxes overall.
Just bring plenty of insect repellent… the mosquitoes are particularly bad this year. Probably from all of the rain. I hope you have fun in Kingfield, you’ll sure find tons of stuff to do up there.
Me and my hunny are now looking for housing in New Hampshire. We wanna live way out in the sticks and live off the land. And for sure maine man we will have alot of fun and i been researching the spot we will be in and there’s tons of things ta do! You got a beautiful with really nice people in it maine man. One day we should meet and party if u want. and if it’s winter ill declare a snowball fight
