They have completely infested my raised beds and ate my banana squash, watermelon and cucumber sprouts and are nibbling my zucchinis and beans!
How can I get rid of these nasty beasties once and for all? I’ve tried corn meal and I think it would work for a smaller infestation than my 3 4×4 beds. I’m almost tempted to poison the buggers with Seven, but I’d rather not poison my food in the process. Tips anyone?

Best to check with your local agricultural extension. I’m in Phoenix, AZ, and have tiny red ants that seem to be primarily concerned with the transport of aphid eggs into my raised 10 x 20 garden, but none of the individual melon, squash or cucumber hills. Try sprinkling epsom salts around the outer perimeter…or cream of wheat. Or online sites for one of the seed companies…at least, my go-to site has an ‘Ask the Experts’ blog.
Surround your garden with small cups of sugar-water. Cover the cups with some seran-wrap, but poke some small holes in the wrap. Then sprinkle just a smidgeon of sugar-water on top of the wrap. The ants will be more interested in this than in your vegetables, and they will fall into the cup, be unable to escape, and drown.
Better yet, follow their trail to see where they are coming FROM. Chances are that the ants in your garden are probably coming from two, maybe three at most colonies. Then bait/poison these areas instead of your garden.
