Cool Down

So it appears we are in the middle of a cool down. You know its been a hot summer when you consider 82 degrees a cool down lol

Temps are slowly cooling down here in Colorado as well, even on supposedly hot days we are getting more long lasting thunderstorms during the afternoon that are significantly cooling temperatures, sometimes as cool as down to 55 degrees on days where stronger thunderstorms develop, the important thing though is that we are getting substantial much needed rain, around 3 inches in the last week or so, and alot more is expected here in Palmer Lake over the next few days.
I have to say, that monsoon is quite the saving grace, and the prospect of a crazy snowy fall and spring, and a cooler than average and stormy winter possibly in the making, there may just be a chance for Colorado to come out of this multi-year drought we have been in, as El Nino tends to favor the Rockies, Southern plains, deep south and the Southeast/ Mid atlantic/ Northeast having wetter than average weather during the cold months.

boy i wish it was 55 on summer afternoons here in virginia you’re so lucky lol

Thanks for sharing the good news.  Every drop of rain is an answered prayer!  I too Fatima32 wishes that we had 55 degreee temperatures here in Virginia.  It’s coming though….  I’m getting married in 19 more days!!!  Still hoping for the weather to be perfect.  Lets see…. a perfect August 18th in my dreams is….(High 75, sunny with NO rain)  Lows that night 55!  Hey…a girl can dream right???  :)

Wish it would cool down in Oklahoma.  This heat is crazy. There have been two fires in a field one house down from my house.  Thank goodness neighbors saw them before they got too large to be controlled by the Fire Department. Our forecasters do not see an end in sight.  I am hoping within the next two weeks or so we will get some kind of break from 100+ temps.

Bobandsheba, I’ve been watching TWC and it says 112 for OK City, forgot which day though. Not really a cool down for Memphis either, supposed to be borderline with 100 in the upper 90′s.

  6. The Rickster says:

Not too much of a cool down here in South Carolina. W have a good chance of storms today, so that might help to keep the temps down. Its 88 outside right now. Humidity is 61% and rising, and the dew point is 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Ugh. I’ll be SOO glad when summer is over. However, I did notice one thing last night that made me smile. I seen Jupiter in the eastern sky. The planet shows a little bit before fall.

  7. bobandsheba says:

Buddy, what I would give for upper 90′s right now.  I am in Tulsa, which has been hotter than OKC all summer.  We have broken an all time record “high low” twice this year, where I believe the low for the days was 84-85.  A/C’s are breaking down like crazy because they are not made to cool a house with temps over 100 and our humidity levels.  Fall can not come early enough around here.

  8. buddy17474 says:

It looks like I might be cooling down soon (finnaly). Temperatures aren’t expected to go above 95 again (unless it does in September) and after August 15th all the temperatures are below 90. But, that’s what Accuweather’s long range forecast says, and Accuweather doesen’t always live up to it’s name.

  9. TheMaineMan says:

Warming up here… this weekend will be in the upper 80s with tropical humidity.

  10. Shadowloki10 says:

I wish we were cooling down. Still in the 90′s here in NOVA with lows in the 70′s and HUMID. Bleah.

  11. TheMaineMan says:

The humidity is so high that I could actually see my breath this morning, in spite of the fact it was 65 degrees.
