Hello all, I am new to this forum thing but I have a 6 month old teethingreally bad and I don’t know what to do.  Is there any signs that can tell me when the first one will cut through the gums? My latw Grandmother went by the signs all the time; however, I can’t ask her or get any info. Please can someone help this 1st time mommy out.  If you can, please email me your replies.  My email address is hadleyemily@ymail.com. I would be so appreciative of any and all replies.  I wish now I had taken the time to sit down and listened, learned, and understood the calendar and the signs with my Grandmother.  I want to learn everything about the almanac that she knew.  Thank you in advance.

Teething should not be stressful to a mother if they will learn from the baby, be aware of the various symptons and offer something to lessen the pain.  Baby Tylenol can be given every 4 hours for discomfort of the gums, a frozen rubber teething ring can be given to the baby to knaw on, or even a  cold wet wash cloth beats nothing at all. Diarhea can be a problem too; watch out for those bowel movements that will stink you out of the room. Teething is happening. Since teething is a natural thing, just being aware of the symptoms and trying to “stay ahead” will eleminate most of your stress.     Your baby’s doctor may offer some suggestions. Stay away from old wives tales and stick with what works. Good luck! a mother who has been there through it all.
