Thoughts On The Farmers Almanac Winter Outlook?

Posted By: Grandin  Posted On: Aug 26th, 2012  Filed Under: Weather

Well the long awaited Farmers Almanac 2012/2013 winter outlook is out. And i must say it is different from what i expected and been hearing. I’m in the cold and snowy part and thats allways good cheers! But the eastcoast and mid atlantic are in the colder then normal with mixed precip basiclly. I was convinced they 2 would have been in the cold and snowy part. But in the upper england states are in the cold and snowy. So peeps like maineman and anyone else who lives up that way should be thrilled. Farmers Almanac threw a curve ball though.

I’ve seen one unified belief, for my region at least (Central OH), with that being very cold with above average snow. FA perpetuated that at least, but their forecast across the midsection of the country was a little bit different than what I’ve seen. I thought those areas would also get a winter in the FA forecast. Nonetheless, I’m excited to see if these predictions come true!

It was a bunch of crap when they predict that the mid atlantic region for mixed precip.

Many other weather sites are clearly predicting cold and above normal snowfall!!! lol

I am less than thrilled with the farmer’s almanac winter forecast.

No complaints here! The northeast especially western NY needs some major snow and cold. It will be what it will be. The only one person that knows what this winter will be is God and Mother Nature of course

  5. ShawnM says:

I still have hope it’s wrong again like it was last year except this time its cold and snowy!

  6. Powderly says:

I live in far northeast Texas along Red River/Oklahoma border.  Does the light blue mean we’re more likely to get a real winter with snow?  Winter passed us by last year, too.  Thanks!

  7. Grandin says:

it means your winter will be warm and rainy basiclly Powderly. With very little chance of snow. Sorry..

Well, it may or may not be mild, but I saw some chances for snow and mixed precip in Texas in the detailed FA forecast.

  9. sapporo1 says:

Average precip could still be above normal snowfall here in Colorado.
