Favorite Season?

Posted By: Delstein  Posted On: Aug 30th, 2012  Filed Under: Weather

Just a light topic where you can discuss you favorite seasons. My personal favorite is winter, followed closely by spring. I think it looks gorgeous when everything is covered in a thick white blanket of snow. And then I love spring because it’s not too hot, not too cold, but just right. It’s also when the leaves are starting to grow and flowers are starting to bloom, and I think that adds to the effect.

Fall is my personal favorite, I enjoy the mild temperatures, fall colors, lack of insects, harvesting what’s left of the garden, and getting some outdoor projects done. Only downside is watching the days get shorter and shorter.
I really don’t dislike any of the seasons… all have things I like and things I don’t like. Winter I like watching snow fall and the lack of insects, but don’t like the short days (or heating bills, although I am very cold weather tolerant). Spring I like the mild temperatures and blooming flowers, but not the insects! Summer I like the long days and outdoor activities, but do not like excessive heat/humidity and do not like the remaining insects. Fall I like just about everything… so I say that fall is my favorite. :)

Mine is winter especially if there is a good snow storm or two. I love fall too.

Well after all the heat and humidity we have had these last few summers I would say that I am turning into a Spring and Fall kinda girl. Although I do like Winter also :)

my favorite is winter because where i live it still gets cold                  my area averages 49.6 inches of snow          and it sometimes gets down to -30 degrees

Wow what state do you live in Rickymadialessi?  -30 might be a bit too cold even for a cold weather lover like me :) .  TheMaineMan you took the words right out of my mouth!  I too love all the seasons with summer being my least favorite because of the extream heat and incests.  Autumn is my absolutely favorite time of the year!!  With the hot summers, folks are usually ready for cooler temps, with the leaves changing and noticing all of natures wonderful signs of the winter to come.  As fun as summer can be; by the time autumn is here I’m ready to slow down, and regroup.  Besides that’s when I can start cooking my dumplings and chicken again :) TheMaineMan I would love to visit Maine during autumn, and plan to do so soon.  I bet the fall foliage is grand!  Great topic!

My personal favorite (despite my Gavatar) is fall. I’m like TheMaineMan, love the cooler days, the wonderful colors. NOTHING like a crisp fall day. Still warm enough to sit outside, still cool enough to have that wonderful cup of coffee in the sun. (sigh) :D

Without a doubt it would be FALL!! I love the cool crisp days and evenings! I love when the leaves fall. I love when we have to rake them up, the kids love to rake them in a pile, then jump in them! I love going to the high school watching the football games. I love taking walks in the crisp, cool evenings! I love making hot chocolate and drinking it on the front. The kids feel a Lil cold weather and the always say “hoodie” weather, lol….To sum it up, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FALL!!! Winter, takes a close second!

Fall is definitely my favorite season. Time to wind down with the garden and summer chores and sit by a cozy fire and rest for a few months.

I grew up in Mo. the change of seasons seemed so normal, like breathing.  Then I moved to the Az desert for many years.  I found myself missing the change of seasons.   I love them all, all for different reasons.  Each calls to me.  When we’re getting ready to go into a new season… I’m loving it!  The season I missed most was spring.  The cool-warm days… mmm… the sun feels so good, with a cool wind… flowers blooming… trees leafing out.  Its like opening the door to a whole new world!  I feel that the only way to get a good honest spring is to have a good honest winter.  So I came home to Mo.

Wow.  This summer was/is wild!  Desert temps and humidity levels!  And just as dry!  No rain all summer, ok, this house has had about 1/4 of an inch all summer.  The leftovers of the hurracane was a blessing to us.  We had 3 inches of glorious rain!  I can already see a green haze covering pastures, yards… its wonderful!!!

I think I love spring the most.  Tho winter is a close second, because that’s how we get a beautiful spring!
