Got Figs? Grill ‘em up!

Hi,

Here is an easy recipe for using up leftover figs from your tree.

Before you grill your figs, grab a plate and load it with toasted baguette slices or crackers of your choice. Place 1/4 inch thick rounds of goat cheese (log-style goat cheese works best) atop each toasted baguette slice. Get out your brown sugar and your honey, too.

Cut several figs in half lengthwise. Use a fresh sprig of rosemary for a brush to rub with olive oil on all sides. Stack the halved figs kebab style on a wooden skewer. Fire up the grill and cook the skewered figs for about three minutes. Turn over, cook two minutes more on other side.

When the figs are heated through,  use a spoon to scoop figs onto the plated baguette slices and goat cheese. Drizzle with just a thread of honey, and a very light sprinkle of brown sugar. Serve warm, with a red wine alongside, and enjoy!
