Snow Predictions/Recordings

I’m making this thread so people who want to, can predict when their first frost, freeze, and snow will be. I just saw Frost and Freeze Warnings in NH, VT, and ME, so I thought it would be a good time to make this thread. This is just for fun, no prizes or anything like that.

  9. Delstein says:

We may get our first frost this Sunday; lows are only going to be 38 in the city, chillier in outlying areas.

  10. buddy17474 says:

I think it has to be 35-ish for frost, so you might be right on the line. I usually see my first frost somewhere between late October and mid November. The FA’s long range forecast says “early season frosts” for October 20-23, so I’m still thinking if I should change mine or not. Last year my first frost was when the NE Halloween blizzard hit, speaking of that storm, it’s kinda sad how the most significant snowstorm of the eastern winter was in October…

  11. TheMaineMan says:

Actual first frost: September 20. About two weeks earlier than average.

We’re under a frost advisory tonight, so that has really boosted my hopes of having our first frost soon.

  13. buddy17474 says:

Frosts could move as far south as Kentucky tonight. Frost Advisories include parts of: Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

  14. buddy17474 says:

FROST UPDATE: Frost Advisories have moved even further south into Southern and Kentucky and Southern Missouri, including Paducah and Sikeston. About 100 miles north of where I live.

  15. Delstein says:

First frost this morning, September 24! Wooo!

  16. buddy17474 says:

Bumping this. A lot of people could see their first frost this weekend/early next week.

  17. TheMaineMan says:

I was pretty close on mine. I’m under a Frost Advisory right now. If there is one tomorrow, it would be out third day in a row. And I think Memphis had a frost only this morning, so I beat them by one day haha
