For that area, I would guess around a foot……maybe a little more, maybe a little less. I live in the south, so anything above 3 inches is significant to me.
A significant snowfall for me is anything above 5 or 6 inches, as our average seasonal total is only 28 inches. I have relatives that live up in NW Pennsylvania, and they’d probably consider that just a dusting!
Anything over 6″ is a major snowfall for us. School would be out for 3 days or more. I love it. Slows down the craziness
Make everything look so peaceful. Besides, it give me an excuse to make a pot of chicken & dumplings!
i live in wmass we see 49.6 inches on average per year

It takes that long to clear the roads??? Where do you live? If we got 6 inches here the kids would have school, adults would have work and life goes on as normal although the commute surely would take a bit longer.
Friends in Wisconsin reported snow the last couple of days and ousins in Grand Rapids Michigan had to get out extra blankets because it cooled to a nice 40 degrees overnight!
I live in Northern Mississippi and we usually see a 2+ inch snow day at least once a year and whenever than happens, schools and most companies are shut down. In Feb. 2010, we got abput 8 inches and residents got to play hooky for three days.
