Found 2 persimmon seeds and seen a wolly worm!

So i was at a job site Tuesday and in the back there is a wooded area and i found 2 persimmon seeds so i picked them up and put them in my truck. And when i got home i opened them there were 2 big spoons in them YES! And on my back deck at home i seen a wolly worm for the 1st time this year and he was black with a short brown band. Now i believe that means a long and severe winter? But the black walnuts has been falling like crazy lately. And every time i see a squirrel he allways has a acorn in his mouth or burying them. And the squirrels are collecting the black walnuts too. And before it got down to 31 degrees Saturday night i was seen HUGE black spiders and huge cobwebs.. And the gooses were flying south in there V shape format. And i haven’t heard the morning birds sing and i really haven’t seen any birds at all since mid to late August. So im thinking like Maineman is sector 4 will get it bad this winter to make up for last winter and this horrible HOT drought we had this summer. Time will tell….

I think I’ll have a good snowfall season… I mean my average is 81 inches and I expect to receive right around 80 inches this year. There are plenty of years where I see above-average temperatures and above-average snowfall (2007-2008 was a great example… 102 inches in spite of mild temperatures) as long as it isn’t VERY warm (2005-2006, 2009-2010, last year). In fact sometimes the really cold winters are the ones I don’t see as much snowfall because the air is so dry… but the advantage is that the snow that does fall tends to stick around. (Did you know that much of Antarctica is a desert? It hardly ever snows… but the snow that does fall lasts a really long time because it hardly ever melts, so there is always snow on the ground.)

Mid-west and GL could see over 150% of average snowfall this year IMO.

I saw the first one of the year in michigan on saturday while cutting down some trees, and it was like what maineman said, it was brown in the middle, with black bands on each end. the fur was very very thick.
i think this means winter will remain cold, with the biggest shots of snow being early in the season and then towards the end. overall i expect above average snowfall,  and below average temps.
