So i was watching fox news chicago and abc 7 news chicago online cause im still out east till next monday. And the guy on fox news chicago was saying how after the 26th of november that a big cold blast will settle in and stay. And there are signs of a possible big lake effect snow storm on november 28th for extreme northwest indiana people and into barrien county michigan. if that happens ill be so happy ill have another big pay job on my plate. And as of monday night my area and chicago got a trace of snow which ended the longest snow drought ever recorded. I sure hope we get this big snow storm. even abc 7 chicago news man was talking about it. crosses fingers and toes! All the weather guru’s on here whats your thoughts on this?

It definitely appears possible, and even in our 13 day trends there is a hint of a massive arctic outbreak that could include some snow with it in our area.
According to Andrew from The Weather Centre, this will likely be a huge arctic surge, and possibly long lasting, and from the sound of it, the Plains and Midwest, including the Great Lakes are in line to see the most brutal of winter this year.

Grandin, have you ever thought about expanding your snowplow business to other states?
    Just curious is all.

  7. Grandin says:

I have thought about that yes. We our contracted and FEMA contracted through out the easteren states when they need help with snow removal or when a hurricane appeoaches me and my company go out there after the storm and remove trees and help with landscaping. But me and my wife have talked about expanding and having local depots out east and much of the western states. And i know some people in canada as well i been thinking of putting several depots in canada as well. It’s been in the works for about a year now. When my son is old enough and is done with college i want him to move out west and be the boss of the west depots. And id take care of the east and midwest and canada.

You might do well in Colorado, since on most normal years, we get a ton of snow in much of the state.

  9. Grandin says:

Corlorado would be one of the states we expand to for sure. When i got out of the army way back when before i started my landscaping/plowing business. me and my wife lived in colorado and i was what you called a track clearer. It’s when a crew of people go out on frieght railroad tracks in the winter and clear the snow off tracks.  And i agree you guys get alot of snow on normal years..
